One Weird Trick for Dealing with Aliens

"I don’t take pleasure in blowing the head off another living creature… okay, so maybe a little bit of pleasure. But if you’re going to do it, it’s best to it quickly and cleanly. If nothing else because up here, things have a habit of not staying dead for long.
Some people prefer to get up close – we call those people “fucking idiots”. When I was on the wrecks, I preferred something a bit more long-range; the further away that some slobbering Cutter is to shearing off my limbs the better, but I suppose it’s always good to have someone packing something a bit more… colourful… when things get hectic."
"For some people guns have a kind of mystical importance, not for me, at the end of the day a gun is just a tool, albeit an essential one. I can’t always promise the crew the best, but if I’ve got the choice between spending a juicy score on comfortable new sleeping quarters or kitting out the crew with the latest hardware… they know what I’m going to do, and it doesn’t involve throw cushions."
